Board of Review Preparation

Before you can advance to your next rank in Boy Scouts, you will have to present yourself to a Board of Review.  The Board consists of several adult volunteers who will ask you questions and evaluate whether you are ready to earn the next rank award.

Here is a checklist you can use to prepare yourself for the Board of Review:

• Wear your full Boy Scout Uniform
• Scout Shirt with all badges sewn on correctly.
• Neckerchief (if you have been issued one by the troop)
• Scout pants
• Merit badge sash (if you have one)
• Bring your Boy Scout Handbook
• Comb your hair
• Smile
• Be Polite

Be Prepared to recite the following from memory:

On my honor I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country
and to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong,
mentally awake, and morally straight.
