Adult leader for all Boy Scout related activities. Responsible for youth training, adult guidance for execution of boy-led program, general direction-setting for youth program. |

| 1st year Patrol Guide |
Adult Transition Patrol Guide, work with Boy Scout Troop Guides to help transition 1st year scouts into functioning patrols, learn basic scouting skills, while encouraging quick progression through entry level ranks. Must be warm and patient communicator to youth. At least one Patrol Guide must be willing to attend outdoor activities like camping |
| Older Scout Patrol Guide |
Adult Patrol Guide capable of working with all ages of scouts, encouraging Patrol leaders to plan and execute Patrol-based program content. Must be wililng to help Patrols focus and get on track to plan and execute their plan. Must be patient and flexible, often winning boys cooperation rather than demanding it (boys lose opportunities to lead when adults assume to lead). At least one Patrol Guide must be willing to attend outdoor activities like camping |
| Venture Patrol Guide |
Well-trained and outdoor skilled Adult Patrol Guide capable of working with older youth leaders to plan and execute Venture-oriented program content. Must be willng to help Patrol Leaders develop detailed planning skills, guide them as they plan and encourage them as they execute them often unguided by adults. Guide, not lead from adult perspective (boys should be capable leaders at this point and only look to adults for more complex problems. Venture Patrol Guide must be fit and be willing to attend higher-adventure outdoor activities like backpacking, multi-day canoe trips, and climbing. |
| Adult QuarterMaster |
Adult Accountable for camping and touring gear for scout trips. Must be mechanically inclined and willing to work on all types of camping and outdoor gear. Must have good communication skills to teach then assist Troop Youth QuarterMasters as they manage Patrol and Troop gear before, during, after outings. |
| Merit badge councilor |
Has advanced or expert knowledge on one or more merit badge skill areas, be able to and willing to share knowledge and encourge a full range of youth as they learn and grow their basic knowledge through merit badge worksheets. Requires creative communication, firm honesty and patience. |
| Adult Leadership Training coordinator |
Need to have a full understanding of standard BSA training program, what classes are required for which activities and serve as both a recorder and a guide to upcoming training. Some computer skills are helpful for tracking and researching. |

| Troop Committee Role |
| Advancement Chair |
Skilled and efficient using Longs Peak Council's Advancement Management software system for awards entry and validation. This is a very detailed oriented job, with sometimes huge crunch times to enable scout advancement ceremonies. Must be a good communicator and good motivator to encourage adult leaders to help advancing scouts be successful. Must be very willing to work with Adult leaders, scouts and district personnel. |
| Advancement help |
Willing to help validate work completed by scouts, assist in reviewing results, back up the AC when he is traveling or ill. Must have same subset of skills outlined above. |
| Outdoor Chair |
Adult research coordinator for all overnight outdoor activities, including high adventure trips. Must understand Boy Scout guide to safe Scouting, all BSA required trip planning, limits of BSA insurance, skill in calendar management (software and otherwise), good negotiator, Internet skilled and willing to work closely with youth and scoutmasters. |
| Outdoor help |
Key role acting between Outdoor Chairperson, Troop PLC, and scoutmaster. This person's job is to track upcoming outdoor events and start involving people at the appropriate "early" time to ensure Troop leadership folks are addressing details around camping trips, community visits, etc. Must be willing to execute with plenty of advance warning to generate plans that are easily executed with low stress. Better outdoor plan execution will improve scout attendance and provide for safe smooth execution. |
| Fund-Raising Chair |
Plans and then guides Troop action on all planned fund-raising efforts for the troop. Examples include BSA popcorn, T-82 Chili Supper, Gold-C coupon books, Sees Candy sales, etc. This is a coordinator's role but with a medium sized troop likeT-82, there is some need for this person to also participate with scouts and scouting parents. |
| Fund-Raising helper |
Need at least 2 additional people (or many) who take on a fund-raiser, guide and assist parent volunteers and scouts through the fund-raising effort. This job fund-raising effort to help offload fund-raising chairperson |
| Board of Review |
Any non-Scouter adult (one or many) willing to participate in T-82 scout advancement review for advancing scouts. Can be a parent or a committee member. can be novice as long as one knowledgable board member is present. Be willing to review advancement criteria, rules and guidelines limiting advancement to those that are ready to move on. |
